Why is it our parents forgot to tell us how our children can embarrass us?

I love my mom. She prepared me for the ups and downs of motherhood...or so I thought.

I'm starting to find out how much she forgot to mention. Around three years old children start having a great imagination. I remember her telling me that. What she didn't mention was that my son was going to become a Jackabear.

What exactly is a Jackabear? Its a three year old Jack that decides he's now a bear. He realizes that bears must have shoes on their front feet. So he puts shoes on his hands and feet. Then when its time to go ANYWHERE he walks like a bear on all fours.

I finally convinced Jackabear that he's not allowed in stores so he needs to act like a boy. (yes you read that right) Well he consents to riding in the cart (Could you imagine a three year old walking through Wal-mart on all 4?) He does insist on wearing all four shoes. The whole time we are in Wal-mart he roars at passer-bys who think he's adorable when he yells "MOMMABEAR I SCARED THEM"

He even groars at the guy in front of us in line- (Thank goodness he had two toddlers with him) I'm assuming he's a grandfather because his comment is to enjoy this, they should outgrow it. (Yes I enjoy going in public with my son that roars at everything)

When we get home and he gets out of the car and proceeds to walk in the house on all fours. I hate to admit I smile and enjoy the moment. The awful truth is I'm thinking of how I'm going to enjoy telling this to his future girlfriends.
